

Ray Wright, born September 12th, 1923, passed away on Thursday, May 17th, 2012 in Houston, TX at the age of 88. Ray is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Bernadine and brother, A.L. Wright. He is survived by sons, Tim Wright and wife Sherry; Mark Wright, David Wright; daughter, Dana Hallmark; grandchildren, Melissa King and husband Brannon, Meredith Sirkel and husband Jason, Chad Wright and Adam Hallmark; and numerous great-grandchildren. Ray was born and raised in Houston, Texas and went to Jeff Davis High School. Ray was trained as a B25 bomber pilot in WWII. When the war ended, he began OPCO Printing Company in 1956 with his uncle, G.C. Duke, where he met and made many great friends throughout his career. Ray loved to bowl and was on numerous bowling leagues. Even into his 80's, Ray bowled several times a week at Del Mar Bowling Center. Ray loved the outdoors and loved going to his country property in Franklin, TX with his son, Tim. Ray enjoyed anything that had to do with the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Ray made many special friends at Spring Branch Nursing facility. His irreverent sense of humor will be missed by many who loved him. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20th, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00p.m. at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Boulevard. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 21st at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway. In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
