Raymond A. Hester, age 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, June 20, 2016. Born in The Heights, Houston, Texas, he graduated in 1941 from Reagan High School. He was a generous, loving husband, father, and grandfather who had served his country honorably with the US Coast Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eulene P. Hester; daughter, Valerie Peltier; son-in-law, Robert Vahldiek; 1 sister; and 3 brothers. Survived by daughter, Barbara Vahldiek; grandchildren, Sharnell Neeley and husband James, Lance Aldrich, Shantel Vahldiek, Scott Aldrich and wife Dana, and Stephen Vahldiek; great grandchildren, Trent Vahldiek and wife JoAnna and Matthew Vahldiek; niece, Freddie Gayle Fuller and husband Dan; great niece, Danya Gladney and husband Will; great great niece, Valerie Gladney; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2016 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
