Reinhold John Geary

John was born May 15, 1946, in Augsburg, Germany. He was the son of Hildegard and William Geary.

After serving in the United States Air Force, John dedicated over 40 years in his career as a Data Processing Hardware Engineer working for IBM and Fidelity Investments. He was actively involved and loved being with family and in church.

John married Nancy Geary and built a loving family over their 51 years of marriage. John was the father of James Geary and Cynthia Jones; his daughter-in-law, Melissa Young Geary; and his son-in-law, Erik Jones. He was also a devoted grandfather to 4 grandchildren who he cherished and loved: Braden and Raelynn Jones and Savannah and Isla Geary.

John was passionate about being with the family, cooking upon retirement, running and enjoying time with his four grandchildren. John’s kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. He leaves a legacy of love, compassion, witty humor and a devotion to family and his faith. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 11am at Bethany Lutheran Church, 3701 W. Slaughter Lane, Austin, Texas, 78749.
