Maurice was born in Huntsville, TX, the son of Doyle Cecil Sims and Doris Jean Sims. He graduated from Jones High School. In 1962, he enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base where he met his wife, Dorothy Jean Sims.
When Maurice got out of the Air Force, they moved to Houston, TX. He went to work for Houston Light and Power where he worked for 25 years until he retired.
Maurice loved hunting, fishing, and getting together with friends and family. His grandchildren, Adam and Ava, were the apple of his eye.
Maurice and Dorothy were married for 52 years. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Maurice, Jr.; daughter, Stacy; grandchildren, Adam and Ava; sister, Sandra; and niece, Amanda.
Maurice will be truly missed by everyone.
