Rita was born on November 20, 1970, in Houston, Texas, to Mary Lopez Gomez and Mario G. Gomez. She grew up in Denver Harbor and attended Stephen F. Austin High School. She will be lovingly remembered for her strength, kindness, and sense of humor.
Rita was a devoted mother, sister, and friend whose love, generosity, and warmth touched everyone around her. She found joy in spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sisters, Angie and Audrey; her brother, Mario; and her two children, Mikayla and David.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale, followed by a Rosary at 6:30 p.m.
