Robert Einar Gaustad born on August 6, 1918 in Eau Claire, WI., went to the Lord on February 14, 2010. Bob served in the 8th AirForce in World War II after graduating from Reagan High School in 1935. He worked for the same motor freight company as auditor and general manager for 42 years. Bob loved to spend time with his family and was a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church.
Bob is survived by his wife of 69 years, “Betty” (Martha Elizabeth Oliver) Gaustad’ daughter, Dr. Carole Ann Buchanan; son, Terry Stephen Gaustad, and brother,Dr. Edwin S. Gaustad, as well as grand-children M. Stephen Buchanan, Lisa M. Sheffield, Rebecca, James, and Ashley Gaustad, and 3 great-grand-children. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Col. John M. Gaustad, sons Daniel R. and Thomas E. Gaustad, and grandson C. Scott Buchanan.
The family invites friends for visitation on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX, 77060, followed with a gate time of 12:00 p.m. for burial at Houston National Cemetery.
