Roby "Bena" Estes Jr.

Roby "Bena" Estes, Jr. was born on October 16,1956 in Long Beach, California to Roby Estes, Sr. and Eliza Spotville Hill, who both preceded him in death. He was baptized at an early age at Christ Second Baptist Church in Long Beach, California.

He was raised in Long Beach, California where he attended Elementary and Middle School, and was a Graduate of Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long Beach,California Class of 1974. He attended Santa Monica Junior College in Santa Monica, California.

He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1976 to 1978.

Roby was employed with The City of Long Beach early on, but eventually became a licensed Aircraft Mechanic, working mostly in Dothan, Al, and Miami, Fl. He later moved to Houston, TX and was employed in the Security Field where he lived for nine years and passed on or around December 3, 2019.He leaves to celebrate his life: one daughter Racquel Estes of Houston, TX, four sons Jamal Estes of Anaheim, CA, Cardea Wells of Portland, MA, Donavon Estes of San Salvador, El Salvador and George Johnson of Long Beach, CA. His siblings Elaine Cathirell of Hollister, CA, Joan Shields of Aurora, CO, Clarence Shields (who preceded him in death) and George Estes of Long Beach, CA ; seven grandchildren, niece, nephew, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Roby will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery on December 20, 2019.
