Rose Mary Thomas

Rose Mary Thomas was born on February 14, 1941, in Hosston, Louisiana, the third of seven children born to Ray and Ella V. Watson. The family soon moved to Houston, Texas, where Rose Mary attended Atherton, E. O. Smith, and Wheatley before graduating from Kashmere Gardens Junior-Senior High School. She was married to her devoted husband, Elisha Thomas, for fifty-three years. To this union three children were born: Christopher Karl, Brian Keith, and Chelsea Lynette.Rose Mary enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She devoted her life to supporting and encouraging her family and frineds.Rose Mary departed this life on Friday, January 5, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ella V. and Ray Watson, Sr.; sister Barbara Jean Johnson, and brothers Ray Watson, Jr. and Lee Arthur Watson.Rose Mary was baptized into the body of Christ at the Fifth Ward Church Of Christ and remained faithful until death. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband Elisha Thomas; daughter Chelsea (Yan) Hobson; sons Christopher (Alfreda) Thomas and Brian (Ingrid) Thomas; sisters Marion Dorsey and Wanda Watson; brother Fredrick Watson; six grandchildren: Brolin Thomas, MaKayla Thomas, Paris Harper, Brycen Thomas, Ryan Hobson, and Rachel Hobson; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.I have fought the good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.---II Timothy 4:7-8a
