Roy Sanchez Suarez Carey Jr.

Roy Sanchez Suarez Carey, age 31, passed away on November 9, 2017 in Houston, TX. Roy was born in Houston, TX to Roy Suarez and Carolyn Jean Rolls. Roy and his brother Thomas were adopted by Sonja Suarez Carey and Mark Carey.

Roy is survived by daughters Lillianna Ellen Suarez Carey and her mother Erika Jones and Gabriella Suarez Carey and her mother Kenzie Egnor Suarez Carey. Roy loves his daughters very much and loved spending time with them playing games, doing silly things and always having fun. Roy continued to have strong relationships with Kenzie and Erika as friends and mothers of his two daughters.

Roy was blessed by being a part of a large family; his brothers and sisters include Sheri Suarez Foreman and her husband Jeff Elder, Sandra Suarez Lang and her husband Philip Lang, Sonja Suarez Carey and her husband Mark Carey, Stephanie Suarez Murphy and her husband Frank Murphy, Thomas Houston Suarez Carey and his fiancé Lynda Helmke, Gabriel Suarez, Paul Edwin Carey, Alicia Chavez-Torrez, Adrian (Alex) Suarez, Travis Dunn, Samantha Suarez, and Stephen Andrew Carey. He is also survived by his grandparents Mary Lou Suarez and Thomas and Karen Carey.

Roy believed that people were more important than things and lived his life that way. One of his friends said “He was the one guy I knew who would literally give you the shirt off his back.” He also loved being outdoors, in the wilderness and meeting people from all around the world while he was traveling. Roy was a talented athlete and enjoyed many sports from football to basketball, skateboarding to snowboarding and he was a fan of Ohio State sports and all things Texas. He worked in several jobs including dry cleaning, construction and social media marketing.

Roy was preceded in his passing by his birth parents Roy Suarez and Carolyn Jean Rolls.

Funeral services will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, TX 77023. The viewing will be Tuesday, November 14th from 5 pm - 9 pm. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, November 15th from 12 pm - 1 pm. The Funeral Service will start at 1 pm. After the funeral service, the procession will travel to the graveside at Forest Park East Cemetery 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598.
