

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Arbrey Kinard and daughters, Glenda Jean Felice and Betty Ann Ulrich; her parents John Weaver and Ruby Virginia Phillips, brothers John Marshall, James Verdis, and sister, Mary Jo Davis.
She is survived by sisters, Lorene Meza and Mildred Grace Wood, brothers Sidney Walter and Marvin Glen Phillips and daughter Joyce Marie Nixon. There are 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters and a host of nieces and nephews.
Marie grew up in Livingston, Texas, marrying her sweet-heart, Herman in 1946.
She will always be remembered as Aunt Marie to many who were under her care when she was director for Sweetwater Daycare for 22 years.
Residing in Houston for 66 years, Marie moved to Devine, Texas to live the last 6 six years of her life with her daughter Joyce and husband, Robert Nixon, Jr.
Marie was a testimonial example of a Proverbs 31 woman. She left this world leaving a legacy of Faith and was an inspiration to everyone with whom she came in contact. Only in eternity will we know it all. She was a true gift from God. She is now walking on streets of pure gold!
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77060.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
