Ruby Johnson Storey, retired sales clerk at Kaplan’s Ben-Her, passed away on June 12, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 93. Ruby was born on August 26, 1922 in Donaldson, Arkansas to Mose and Maudie Johnson. She moved to Houston with her family at the age of 13. Ruby married Roy W. Storey in 1940 and they lived happily until his death in 1995. Ruby was a long-time member of Baptist Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, Louis and Calvin Johnson. She is survived by her brother, James L.C. Johnson; sons, James R. Storey and wife Shirley and Glenn A. Storey and wife Gail; grandchildren, Robert Storey and Kimberly Mettlen; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Patsy Wilson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery.
