Salvador graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1964 before joining the United States Army. He proudly served for three years in Vietnam as a paratrooper and combat medic.
After his military service, Salvador attended the University of Houston's main campus for three years, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in History. He then dedicated 33 years of his career to ExxonMobil in Baytown, where he worked as a process technician.
Outside of his professional life, Salvador was deeply involved in the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout and later serving as a Scoutmaster.
A passionate sports fan, Salvador enjoyed attending and watching Astros games with his grandsons, as well as playing golf and fishing. He was also an avid camper.
Salvador is preceded in death by his daughter, Felicia Marie Flores. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary, his son Zachary and daughter-in-law Lan Flores, his grandson Nicholas Silva, his sister Margaret Quiroz, brother-in-law Joe Quiroz, and cousins Mark Garza, Rachel Garza, Alex Garza, and Matthew Ross Garza.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association in Salvador’s honor.
Family and friends are invited to attend his burial at Forest Park Lawndale on Wednesday, February 5th at 2pm. Visitation with the family will take place on Tuesday, February 4th from 5pm to 8pm.
