With great sadness, we announce the passing of Sharron Kaye Wilburn, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a woman of unwavering kindness, boundless love, and quiet strength. Sharron's heart was as vast as the sky, and she devoted her life to ensuring the happiness and wellbeing of those she loved.
Sharron was born in San Antonio, Texas, and moved to Houston with her parents as a very young girl.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Betty Sue and Ule Ray Shely, and 2 brothers, Darrell and Wayne Shely.
She is survived by husband Brandt Alvin, sons Shane Allen and Eric Wane, grandchildren Cassidy Cheyne and Nikolas Mason Wilburn, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sharron was a Sam Houston High School graduate. She was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for nearly 27 years and had retired in 2013.
To her grandchildren, she was a haven—a comforting presence, a source of wisdom, and the embodiment of unconditional love. Cassidy remembers her as her rock, always offering warmth and guidance, wrapping her in love like a soft, protective blanket. Niko describes her as more than a person; she was home, a place of safety and peace, always there to provide comfort and reassurance.
Her son Eric treasures the memory of her gentle soul, reflecting on her deep love for all people and her faith in the Lord. He finds solace in knowing she has now received her crown of righteousness and is reunited with those who went before her. Shane, her devoted son, describes her as a woman of great integrity, class, and loyalty. She stood by her husband, Brandt, for nearly 57 years, was deeply devoted to her family, and lived with the highest moral values. While his heart aches in her absence, he takes comfort in knowing she has been welcomed home by her loved ones who passed before her.
Brandt, her devoted husband, expressed in a heartfelt letter the depth of his love and admiration for Sharron. He described her as one of the most perfect souls he had ever known—loyal, compassionate, honest, and endlessly loving. She was the heart of their family, cherishing her sons, grandchildren, and, above all, her husband with unwavering devotion. Brandt shared how lost he feels without her, yet he takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her parents and siblings. His love for her remains eternal, and he awaits the day they will meet again.
Sharron’s legacy is one of kindness, love, and unwavering faith. She touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving behind a family who will forever cherish her memory. Though life will never be the same without her, those who loved her will carry forward the lessons she taught them—the importance of love, faith, and always being there for one another.
A celebration of Sharron’s life will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on 03/29/2025, where family and friends will come together to honor the incredible woman she was.
Rest peacefully, Sharron. You are deeply loved and will be forever missed.
