

SHERRIE LEE JOHNSON REYNOLDS, daughter of the late David Johnson and Thelma Montgomery Johnson was born October 18, 1937 in Houston, Texas. While raised by grandparents Walter and Daisy Montgomery, she attended Harris County public schools and was a 1957 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She was christened at six months of age at Wayman Chapel African Methodist Church and remained a member until her death. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ, participating in all youth programs: Sunday School, Duet singing with her sister, Young People’s Department, Choir, and served as Trustee. Sherrie was a very dedicated and was the oldest lifelong member at Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church. She continued to serve faithfully until her health began to fail. Sherrie had a very generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and being with family and friends. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Reynolds, David Johnson (father), Thelma Lewis (mother), Walter and Daisy Montgomery (grandparents), Robert Johnson (brother), and Lavern Staggs (sister). Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her long time mate, Adrian Thompson; children: Floyd Johnson, Chertral Kincheon (Karl), both of Houston, Texas, Special daughter Ann Rogers. Grandchildren: Jasmine Harris (Phillip), Jenard Johnson (Kamari), Jeremy Johnson, Cailinn Hilliard, Kameron Kincheon, Special granddaughter Brianna Rogers. Five great-grandchildren; sisters: Cora Greene, Joan Harper, Carol Andrews and Mary J. Bowman; brothers: James Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri, and David Johnson (Akiko) of Stone Mountain, Georgia; Sister-In-Law Jo Ann Williams, Special daughter-in-law Audrey Johnson. A best friend, Harrietta Hall, God-daughter Vickey Christopher, God-son DeAndre Berry. A host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
