He is preceded in death by his former wife and the mother to his first three children, Emma Jean (Montano) Velasquez; his parents, David and Luisa (Castillo) Velasquez; sister, Juanita Pantoja. Simon is survived by his former wife and mother to Sevin Luis Velasquez, Gloria (Gracia) Velasquez; sons, Simon Velasquez, Jr. and wife Monica, Charles Ray Velasquez, Victor David Velasquez and wife Cherise, Sevin Luis Velasquez and wife Mirna Crystal. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Nicholas Velasquez, Christopher Velasquez, Izabelle Louisa Velasquez, Simon Joseph Velasquez, III, Alana Simone Velasquez, Sevin Cole Velasquez and Zayne Luke Velasquez; and his sisters; Ofelia Martinez, Theresa Pineda, Mary De La Garza and Dodie Trevino.
