On February 23, 1946, Terrell Evan Hunt was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, the second son of Roine and Don Evan Hunt, brother to Robert Don Hunt. He graduated from Millikan High School in Long Beach, California. Then, at the age of 19, he served a mission as the first LDS missionary in Beirut, Lebanon. He returned to the United States to complete his education, graduating with honors from Brigham Young University in 1970. He earned a Masters from George Washington University, graduating magna cum laude, and a law degree from Georgetown University. He was Director of Enforcement at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) where he developed and instituted policies that levied significant deterrent fines on companies that pollute the environment. He was then recruited by Houston-based law firm Bracewell & Patterson, where he became a partner in the Environmental Practice. He left Bracewell & Patterson to become the President of Risk International. When that company moved to Ohio, Terrell took over their Holocaust asset recovery work for victims and their heirs, creating the new company, the LivingHeirs Foundation. He successfully changed legislation in Texas, California, Florida and Connecticut to enable Holocaust victims and their heirs to receive reparations for an additional seven years. In spite of death threats, he persevered on the side of right. On February 1, 1969, Terrell married Peggy Bosley. No children were born to this union. On September 11, 1982, he married Sara Blackwell. To this union, Braden Blackwell Hunt and Jordan Fife Hunt were born. On January 13, 2001, he married his best friend, Karen Collins. To this union, Katie Danielle Roine Hunt was born. Terrell was a community activist, representing the church in countless volunteer projects. He has served many church callings as a High Priest, temple worker, seminary teacher, and many others. Terrell loved the Lord, and it was apparent in every aspect of his life. An avid mountain climber, Terrell climbed the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, the Wasatch Mountains in Utah, Mt. Rainier in Washington, the Matterhorn in Switzerland, and even reaching a point below the summit on Mount Everest. As an art collector, he filled his home with beautiful artwork from renowned artists including Andy Warhol and John Lennon. Terrell’s biggest passion was his three children, to whom he was unceasingly devoted. He is survived by his wife Karen Hunt, son Braden Hunt and daughter-in-law Stephanie Hunt, son Jordan Fife Hunt, daughter Katie Hunt, brother Robert Hunt and his wife Deandrea, beloved mother-in-law Katie “Nik Nik” Johnson, brothers-in-law Neiman Collins, Malcolm Field, Jaemycal Fontenot, and Shane Collins, sisters-in-law Kenya Jones, April Fontenot and Simone Collins, and a host of nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
