Thelma Lee Theis

Thelma was born to Robert Wellington Morrison and Addie Florene Blanchard, September 2, 1928, in Crosby, Texas on the Peterson Place at home on the farm. She graduated from Milby High School in 1946. She married Kenneth Charles Theis in 1950, and they lived together in North Shore, a part of Houston, TX . Together they raised four children.

She is survived by: Charlie Theis and wife Cynthia, Robert Theis and wife Mary, Diana Theis, and Billy Theis. She also leaves to cherish her memory: 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Kenneth Theis, (husband), Robert Mattox, (grandson).

Thelma worked as a secretary for Exxon and North Shore ISD. Thelma enjoyed people, flower gardening, and cooking. Apple Pies and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies were her specialties. She loved spending time with friends and family. You could find her enjoying music and dancing around in the house and on her front porch. She was a neat freak and was always swinging a broom around. Thelma loved her church and was active in the DMA (Don’t Mention Age) group with all her friends.

A visitation for Thelma will be held Monday, March 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 3, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A committal service will occur Monday, March 3, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:55 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
