I will always remember Harry's kindness and friendliness when we moved into the condo on Doliver back in 1990.   He was so fun-loving and full of life.  An unforgettable guy and one of those good souls we are lucky enough to encounter on life's journey.  I thank God for the life of Harry Vroulis.  I wish his family and other loved ones the comfort of warm memories.

Harry will always be remembered as our first friend at the condominium complex on Doliver.  We played lots of games of “Harry ball” in the swimming pool there at the complex, and, as the months rolled on, we celebrated warm winter days that allowed us to play.  I am sorry that we gradually lost touch with Harry after moving away from Doliver and becoming more engrossed in our careers.  I will never forget him, his friendliness, and his healthy approach to life.  He did a lot of living in the moment, which we all might try to emulate.  I hope his loved ones are comforted by all their happy memories.

Harry and I graduated in Physics from the University of Athens, in Greece in 1969, becoming friends initially from being fans of the same team in the Greek soccer League!
The way his kind neighbours and friends in Houston describe him here, this is how Harry was back then. When Harry went to the US, I went to England for postgraduate studies and I did not see Harry until January 1981, when i came to Houston on a business trip. I searched for Harry through a common friend and on a Sunday he led me to the university soccer grounds where Harry was playing. When Harry saw me, he left the game and came out of the pitch to the sideline to hug me.
Unfortunately I lost contact since, as I was living in England. Over a year ago I came back to live in Greece and a few days ago I thought I'd try to trace Harry, through the internet, hopefully to see him again. I was shocked and deeply saddened to read articles of Houston newspapers on his passing.  But glad he enjoyed life.  My condoleces to his family and friends.

Harry was a neighbor and friend for many years. We were both runners - but certainly Harry was more dedicated to the marathon. He had a great sense of humor and a sparkle in his eyes. He loved his summer trips to Greece.  I miss seeing Harry.

Harry had such an open, fun-loving, and welcoming spirit.  The world gets a little colder when lights like Harry’s  are extinguished.  I will always be grateful for his friendship when we first came to Houston.

So many memories of Harry have flooded back this week, most involving his lively sense of humor.  It occurred to me when the chapel door would not open today that Harry was with us, up to a bit of mischief.  I wonder if anyone else had that thought...

He truly was the best of neighbors, and we were so lucky to have known him.  Once again, my condolences to his family.

We are so sorry for your loss, and hold your family in our thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort. We will miss Harry in our town home complex! I'm sure he's running free right now!

My husband Tom and I moved to Houston in 1990, and Harry was the single most welcoming person in our little neighborhood.  We lived on Doliver for only a short time, but we played many games of water volleyball in the community pool with Harry; my husband actually referred to our game as “Harryball.”  

Harry was an uplifting and positive person, a joy to know.  My deepest condolences go out to all his family.  The world will miss his unique presence and “light.”  

May we all lead our lives a bit more like Harry led his, taking time for others and noticing the little things.  I am so grateful that our paths in life crossed, if only for a brief time.

Harry was the friendliest of neighbors. He would play soccer or teach my son swim strokes and give him chocolates he brought back from Greece. He would go out of his way to make sure my shrubs got water if I was away and always kept me up to date on the happenings of our HOA. He would show us pictures he had taken over the years as we shared the same interest of photography and talked about how  one day we would go take pictures. He would text us greetings on holidays and knew everyone's name in our neighborhood. He is one of the kindest people I have ever met and we are lucky and grateful to have had him as our neighbor.
