

Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and being in the woods with friends and family. He was also an avid football, baseball, bowling, and golf fan. He rarely ever missed an Alabama game or Thursday bowling.
He is survived by his wife Vickie Cary Carlson, sons Alan and Michael Carlson, and Mark and Brian Cary, daughters Michelle Carlson and Erin Cary, future daughter Melissa Turner, and grandchildren Samantha, Hunter, Deborah, and Coby Carlson, Madison and Brendan Cary, and Brooke and Ryan Turner, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Mary Carlson, and brother Gary Carlson.
Tom attended Berry High School and graduated from Marion Military Academy. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from Montevallo University. He joined the National Guard and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was Branch Manager of Motion Industries in Baytown for many years before opening his own business, Baytown Pneumatics and Hydraulics. He finished his working career when he retired from NTN Bearings.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Rose, a Houston based charity that helps local women gain access to cancer prevention treatment.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 25th from 5:00pm - 9:00pm at Forest Park Lawndale (6900 Lawndale St). The funeral will be on Friday, May 26th at 1:00pm at the same location.
