"Mr. Tanny," as the children and I affectioinately referred to him, was a bright light in our neighborhood.  His open garage beckoned fellow neighbors to stop and visit. His simple act of being outside, smiling, and waving at others, encouraged a sense of community. The kids and I regularly stopped to fellowship with him. Often he shared food, a kind word, and humor with us. He kept a close eye on the neighborhood and served as a good example of being neighborly. He will be greatly missed.

Tanny was a wonderful neighbor and friend.  We will miss him and miss seeing him in the garage calling out to the neighbors.  We met a lot of our neighbors through Tanny!  He brought people together.  We will also miss his jokes.

Cynthia, our deepest condolences to you and your family.  Know that your dad is in heaven with your mom, telling jokes and enjoying himself!  No more pain and illness.

Tanny was a wonderful neighbor. We fondly remember him sitting in his garage across the street. Almost every other day when I got home from work, I would walk across the street to say hello, gossip about every topic imaginable. Our kids loved getting candy from Mr Tanny.  He always kept a watchful eye on our house and the street. We will miss him dearly. Cynthia, Donna, Lisa, Leon - Please accept our condolences.

Dear Miller family,
My condolences on the passing of your beloved father, may he rest in peace. I remember him fondly singing at Holy Name and always supporting his daughters in all their activities at Holy Name school.

The neighborhood won't be the same without you.  I always looked forward to our conversations and listening to your jokes.  We all miss you, but we know you are reunited with Mary and you are now both in loving arms.

Mr. Miller sang at my wedding in 1972. We had so much fun picking the songs he would sing. He was a special man. I am sorry I could not make visitation or attend the service.

Enjoyed cutting Tanny's hair this past year or so  and i loved both he and Mary.  He will be missed. I know he is in heaven because he sacrificed a lot of his life to care for her. You two have fun.

Donna and sisters, so sorry to hear of Tanny's passing. He was such a joyful man and we always enjoyed his jokes and of course his singing. Prayers for all the family.

Tanny sang at our wedding 48 years ago.  My heart goes out to his family.  It's so sad when a voice like that is silenced but he leaves behind so many happy memories.

We all know that Saint Peter had the Golden gates wide open for him to join his Saviour and the love of his life Mary Louise. Our prayers are with his family

Tanny was a very special man and gifted vocalist. My spouse, Katherine (Todaro) Weido, grew up near the Miller family home in the north side of Houston and was a childhood friend. She fondly remembers his outgoing personality and joyful spirit. 

Tanny sang at our wedding in 1959. We both cherish the memory of his wonderful voice singing the Ave Maria.

Tanny was an amazing and talented man.  He was truly happy and had so much love and joy in his spirit.  He always had a joke and a kind word.  He had always been there for our family! I sang with Tanny in the Holy Name Choir with Mrs. Benerito in the early 60's, I didn't have his voice, but he was always encouraging, friendly, & upbeat.  He sang at my mother's funeral--"Dear Sacred Heart" per her request.  I'll always remember that HE remembered what she had jokingly asked him to do years before she died.  My condolences to Tanny's daughters and family. Great guy.
