Thomas D Rivera

Thomas D. Rivera 73, of Houston, TX passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 18, 2014. Thomas proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Lucy; daughters, Kathryn Danas and Carlos Parra, Karen Rodriguez and husband Eddie, Mary D Salazar; sons, Michael Gonzales and wife Sandra, Thomas Rivera; sisters, Lupe Leon and husband Luis and Felis Melinder and husband Leroy; grandchildren, Elliott Rodriguez, Michael Anthony Arauza, Steven Joseph Arauza, Christian Thomas Gonzales, Kalena Rodriguez, Kahla Rodriguez and several others; great-grandchildren; Elijah, Lorraine, and Elikai Rodriguez and several others. In lieu of fresh cut-flowers, the family requests Plants in honor of Thomas.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-8:00pm Thursday, July 24, at Heights Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary at 7pm.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Friday, July 25, 2014 at Regina Caeli Parish, 6646 Addicks-Satsuma Rd., Houston, TX 77084, with Rev. Charles Van Vliet, FSSP celebrant. The Rite of Committal will follow with Military Honors at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
