Tony A. Rosales

He was born in Laredo, Texas on May 26, 1928. He is preceded in death by parents, Apolonia Garza and Antonio Rosales, sisters Emma, Amparo, and Elizabeth; brothers Joe, Eloy, Humberto, Frank and Ernesto.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Lilly, sister-in-law, Nena who he looked at as a daughter; two sons, Tony III (Annette), Humberto (Yolanda), and daughter Belinda (Homer); six grandchildren, Tony IV, Natalie, Monica, Arlene, Elida and Gabriel, 15 great-grandchildren, his sister, Dora Martinez (Ruben) and several nieces and nephews.

Tony became a Merchant Marine at the age of 17 years (from 1945 to 1966), to care for his mother, whom he loved dearly, and siblings. In 1951 he met the love of his life, Lilly, and they married on August 29, 1954. His family is what he loved most in life, as well as the company of many friends. Amongst his favorite leisure activities were, taking drives to Magnolia Park, playing golf and drinking coffee with his buddies, watching football and baseball, and most of all going to sports activities to watch his grandchildren play. He lived a long life.

The Rosales family would like to give a special thanks to the many friends, nurses and caregivers who very lovingly helped Tony with his daily needs and routines with the same love he always showed so many.

A visitation for Tony will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A Rosary service will occur Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 11011 Hall Rd, Houston, TX 77089. A committal service will occur Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
