Valerie was an active member of the VFW Post 8790, Women's Auxiliary and Fair Haven United Methodist Church.
Valerie was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Smith. She is survived by her loving children: son, Lance G. Smith and wife, Ginnie; daughter, Carol Jane Buddin; daughter, Heather Nations and husband, Neal; grandchildren, Mark, Dawn, Nicole, Tiffany and Reece, as well as her great grandchildren.
Valerie will be long remembered for her love and devotion in caring for many children over the years.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate this wonderful woman's life during a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9th in the sanctuary of Fair Haven United Methodist Church, 1330 Gessner, Reverend Paul Thomasson officiated.
