Velma Jorene Wilson

Velma Jorene Wilson was born January 9, 1929 in Mildred, Texas to Robert and Pearl Wilson. She attended Kilgore Highschool and enjoyed long employments with Prudential Insurance Company and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she retired in 1987.

She departed this life on December 23, 2015. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Melvin Wilson and Fred Wilson, sisters, Ruth Clubb, Louise Hill and Bobbie Street.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Landes, Nephews, Morris and Robert Hill, Mike Wilson, Thomas, David and Scott Street and Neices, Judy Ball, Margie Farrar and Debra Wilson and many other family, friends and neighbors of which she loved dearly. Jo was also surrounded with wonderful caregivers Susie Dumar, Frieda Richmond and Linda Belden whom she loved and appreciated. They were a great blessing in her life!

Jo was baptized at Parkway Baptist Church and a longtime member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church where she taught the senior ladies Sunday School class for many years. She enjoyed baseball and fishing and had a great love for animals. Jo will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 1:00 pm with funeral services at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
