

Virginia Hoiden, 86, passed away to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2017. She was born in McAlester, OK on December 24, 1930 and received her Diploma in Nursing from Memorial Hospital of Nursing in Houston, Texas. She was married to Joseph Hoiden, Jr on April 9, 1951. She worked as a Labor and Delivery RN for nearly 44 years and also assisted with deliveries for all family members who desired. She was a Den Mother, a Girl Scout Cookie Leader, and a church volunteer. She loved family camping trips to the beaches and lakes. Upon retirement in 1996, she traveled the United States and the world, visiting many places such as Yellowstone, Alaska, Germany, Great Britain, France, Indonesia, Singapore, and South America. She even went on a trip to pet the whales. She went on trips with naturalists learning about wildflowers and birding, taking photographs along the way. She enjoyed needlepointing and gave away most of her beautiful pieces to friends and family. She has joined her husband, her parents and all 12 of her siblings in heaven rejoicing. She was survived by 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
