Virginia is survived by her two sons and their wives: Michael and Veronica Mullenix, and Craig and Sonia Mullenix. Virginia has three married grandchildren: Aaron and Carly Mullenix, Edison and Brian Kneeland, and Helen and Wyatt Bagwell; and one younger grandson: Steven Mullenix. She also has been abundantly blessed with three great granddaughters: Verity, Juliette, and Rosalie. She is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Mullenix, and her siblings and parents.
In 1963 Virginia married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Bobby Mullenix. They built a strong loving household as they lived in fidelity to their marriage vows: “…through good times and bad times, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health…”. In living out the sacrament of marriage Virginia and Bobby grew closer to The Lord Jesus, accepting His will each day. She was steadfast in her vocation as a wife and mother. Virginia loved to travel. Her favorite family vacations were her trips to explore Mexico City, Texas, Alaska, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, California, and South Carolina. She also enjoyed discovering new restaurants and was often found socializing with friends and family over a dinner of Tex-Mex fajitas paired with a frozen margarita.
Virginia faithfully served others through her actions and her prayers as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was also an active parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Houston; where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, as a lector, and as a catechist. Virginia was passionate about teaching others about Jesus Christ and His Church. Through her authentically expressing her love for Jesus and inviting others to consider what it means to have a relationship with Him; Virginia undoubtedly impacted many lives.
Virginia will be deeply missed, we will especially miss her warmth, her humor, and her generosity. Virginia’s allegiance to her family and friends, and her unending love and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
