Buck graduated from Lamar High School and Rice University. He spent about two years in the Calvary during WWII, stationed in India, Burma and China. This occurred between his freshman and sophomore years at Rice.
He was a developer, homebuilder, farmer, rancher as well as the owner of a record store, hardware store, bank and Arabian horse farm.
Buck and his wife, Rosalie, had three children: Jennifer, Stuart, and Chris and two grandchildren, Alexis King and Christopher King.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of St. Luke's United Methodist Church at 3471 Westheimer Road on January 31, 2015 at 12:00 pm, preceded by a private graveside burial service.
