Wallace Robert Longoria, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026 surrounded by the comfort of his family. Born on August 23,1944, Robert’s life was defined by his deep faith, unwavering devotion to family, strong work ethic, and immense generosity. As a man of God, he gave daily thanks for the many blessings in his life.
Robert was a devoted family man, whose life revolved around those he loved most. At the heart of it all was his beautiful marriage to his beloved wife of nearly 54 years, Janie D. Longoria. He was a loving father and took great joy in being a grandpa to each of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert was also well known for his passions for playing pool, watching boxing and collecting classic cars.
In 1974, Robert’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to open Robert Longoria Painting Contractor. Through sheer determination and hard work he grew the company into a successful business. Building on that success Robert further expanded his legacy by forming Longoria Investments in the early 1980s, creating a strong foundation for future generations. Robert approached everything with his charisma, integrity and unmatched work ethic. Robert’s bright light will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Longoria and Rose Juarez; his brother, Paul Longoria; and his beloved wife, Janie D. Longoria.
He is survived by his loving family: sister, Rose Anne and her husband George Morris; brother, Paul G. Longoria and his wife Gloria Longoria; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ana and Carlos Hernandez; children, Robert Longoria and his wife Veronica, Debra Longoria, Diane Longoria, Denise Longoria-Lopez and her husband Jose Lopez; grandchildren, Robert Anthony Longoria, Rene Carbajal, Ashley Simon, Joshua Longoria, Victoria Moreno, Frank Longoria, Carolyn Moreno, Joseph Almanza, John Michael Longoria, Eric Lopez, Janie Lopez, Luck Longoria-Cruz; great-grandchildren, Corbin Baham, Desmond Simon, Liliana Carbajal, Amelia Simon, Lucy Carbajal, Naomi Murillo, Lucas Murillo, Chloe Murillo, Evalina Longoria, Layla Carbajal and expecting soon, Baby Longoria.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, on January 27, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary Service will take place at the same location on January 27, 2026, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
The Funeral Service is scheduled for January 28, 2026, beginning at 10:00am, with ceremony at 11:00am at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Immediately following the funeral, a Committal Service will occur from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the same venue.
