

Uvaldo E. Guerrero (also known as Walter) was reunited in Heaven with his beautiful wife, Charlotte Trevino, on Sunday, January 8, 2017. He was 97 years old. For 20 years he made a monthly trek to take flowers to his beloved wife after she passed.
Walter and Charlotte made their home in Houston Texas in the East End. There they raised their children Walter Jr and Julia.
Walter was born on September 30, 1919 in Tynan, Texas to his parents Timoteo Guerrero and Rita Estrada. He had 8 brothers and sisters of which he was the youngest. Walter grew up in Beeville Texas or as he always put it “in the country”.
Walter served in the US Marines and served with great honor during WWII. Walter was also an Executive Chef by profession. He retired from the Hyatt Regency. Prior to that, he worked for the Rice Hotel and various other restaurant establishments around the Houston metropolitan area.
Walter loved his family, cooking, laughter, music and baseball. The Houston Astros being his favored team.
Walter is survived by his son, Walter Jr., his daughter Julia Thompson (husband Dan); 2 grandchildren Stefanie Guerrero Batrez (husband Tony) and Christopher Sanchez (wife Judy). He has 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Charlotte, his parents, his brothers and sisters, his son, Joe D. Morales and his great granddaughter Angel Batrez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
