Wanda Lane Wallis (Morwood) Rynell passed peacefully from this life into eternity on September 24, 2021. Wanda was born in Houston, Texas on February 1,1937 to her beloved parents, Fred and Ann Wallis. She was a lifelong resident of the Houston Heights and attended Eugene Field Elementary, Hogg Jr. High and John H Reagan Sr. High.
Wanda frequently mentioned that the best time of her life was spent at Reagan High School. She was a proud Reagan Redcoat and Baseball Sweetheart. Wanda graduated at mid-term December 1953 and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Ray Morwood. They had two children, Rev. Dr. Debra Lynn Morwood and Ray Morwood, Jr.
On December 31, 1959 she married Kenneth Lee Rynell. They had two children, Terri Lane Rynell Dalton (Keith) and Jennifer Lee Rynell Evans (Rob).
Wanda began working for Columbia Gas Transmission Company when her older children were small. After marrying Kenneth she was a homemaker for many years. Wanda was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in the Heights.
She returned to work at Columbia Gas Transmission Company which underwent several mergers/acquisitions and she retired after over 40 years of service from ExxonMobil Corporation all while working at the same place! Wanda was very proud of her work as a PBX Receptionist. Her work offered her a way to express her outgoing and bubbly personality.
Wanda always loved to shop. That was her favorite hobby. Each year she loved her vacations in New Braunfels, Tx with her family. There was nothing she liked more than spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In February, 2021, she left her beloved Heights to live with her daughter Jennifer and her family. Her children cared for her until her death. Living with Jennifer, Wanda was able to enjoy being a part of the family action with children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a few family pets thrown in.
Wanda is survived by her children, her grandchildren Michael (Katie), Kelly (Ty), Collin, Trey, Kendra, Emorie Claire and her great grandchildren (Davy, Jack and Alexandria James (AJ)
