Wayne Marvin Richardson, a cherished resident of Romayor, Texas, passed away on August 16, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in Houston, Texas, on November 24, 1936, to Clyde and Catherine Richardson, Wayne was one of seven children, with five brothers and one sister.
He graduated from Jeff Davis High School and furthered his education with a Master’s Degree from Southern Methodist University while serving as a bank officer. Wayne contributed significantly to the banking industry by developing protocols that advanced future banking practices.
Wayne began his career at First City National Bank in Downtown Houston, starting in the mailroom and rising to the board room as a Senior Vice President upon retirement of over 35 years. He was also honored to serve his country as a United States Marine.
On August 14, 1959, Wayne married the love of his life, Beverly Richardson. Just last week, they celebrated their 66th anniversary together, a testament to their enduring love and commitment. Wayne was a devoted father to two children: Scott Richardson and his wife Kim of Montgomery, Texas, and daughter Priscilla Pate and her husband Kent of Midway, Texas. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Jarrod Pate, Ronnie Dietz, Casey Pate, and Kayley Pate of Dallas, Texas, and a great-grandfather to four beautiful great-grandchildren. He cherished his many nieces and nephews, holding each of them close to his heart.
A wise, thoughtful, and selfless man, Wayne was a natural leader who cherished spending time with family and friends. He was beloved by children and all who met him. Wayne served as President over the Elders at his home church, Trinity Lutheran in Livingston, Texas, and faithfully volunteered at the Center of Hope, serving the underserved in his community.
Wayne was a loyal, faithful, and nurturing individual, always rooting for the underdog and ready to help those in need. His legacy of wisdom, laughter, and lasting traditions will be shared for generations. We carry with us gratitude for a life well-lived, the gift of family, and the hope that sustains us. We thank God for the years we had with him and cherish the beautiful memories we made together.
Through his strong character, mentorship, and leadership, Wayne positively influenced thousands of people personally and professionally. He leaves behind a legacy that we commit to carry forward.
Final words of comfort resonate in the scripture he held dear: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (1 Timothy 4:7) And in his own words, “Until we pile up again.”
Visitation will be held at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, on August 21, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. The committal service will take place at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery at 12:00 pm.
