

William Clifford Green, a native Houstonian, was born July 5, 1921 to Maud and Herbert F. Green, and went home to his Savior Jesus Christ, February 10, 2015. He was a gentle and genuine Christian man, faithful to his Lord and to his wife of 68 years, Ann Rudik Green. He is survived by his wife, his daughter Joanne Green Taylor and husband Jim, nieces and nephews, and many loving friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers and their wives, Sydney and Ruth, John and Inez, and Herbert Lee and Joyce. Clifford graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, and received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Houston. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-45, then enjoyed a successful career as an engineer at Diamond Shamrock Chemicals and at Brown & Root. All his life, he loved fishing, bird hunting, and relaxing with family and friends at the house on Carancahua Bay. He was a lifetime member of the fellowship currently meeting at First Colony Bible Chapel, and for all his life a faithful servant of Christ. He served with youth and summer camp work, influencing many young lives, and for many years was church treasurer, a responsibility he discharged with care and complete integrity. He served on the board of Sandy Creek Bible Camp from 1957-73. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday February 14, 2015 at Forest Park Lawndale (6900 Lawndale St. , Houston, TX 77023). Funeral Services will follow at 2:00. Memorial Gifts may be made to First Colony Bible Chapel (3610 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land, TX 77479) or to Sandy Creek Bible Camp (5051 Prayer Lane , Washington, TX 77880) in Clifford’s honor.
