

JARVIS, William D., age 80, of Houston, TX, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Vada B. Jarvis of Moultrie, GA and his nine other siblings, as well as his two step-daughters, Terry Cox LeWorthy and Sharon Cox Beckham. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Barbara A. Jarvis of Houston, TX; his two sons, Richard D. Jarvis and wife Alysa of Missouri City, TX and William Steven Jarvis and wife Traci of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Crystal Jarvis Blank and her husband Stuart, Tabitha Jarvis Thompson and her husband Christopher, Richard Jake Jarvis, Stephen Thomas Beckham, Chasity S. Moore, William Andrew Jarvis, Jordan Dougherty, Ali Dougherty, Daniel Richard Jarvis and Hannah Bailey Jarvis; great grandchildren, Christian Luke Thompson, Autumn Lucille Thompson, Sarah Katherine Blank, Connor Montgomery Blank, William Lucas Jarvis, Cierra Taylor Camarillo, William Caden Camarillo and Candise Jaida Ramcharan.
Born in Fulton County, Georgia, on December 25, 1933, Bill graduated from Moultrie High School. Afterwards, he joined the Marines and served as a helicopter pilot during the Korean War. Upon his discharge from military service, he relocated to Galena Park, TX and became employed by Shell Chemical Company in Deer Park, TX as a Master Electrician from 1957 until his retirement in 1983. He and his wife, Barbara, retired to Zavalla, TX until their return to Houston in 2012.
Services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023 on Friday, September 26, 2014 beginning with visitation and viewing from 12:00PM (Noon) until 1:45PM. A Memorial Service in the Chapel will begin at 2:00 PM followed by grave side service on-site with military honors and salute. Afterwards, there will be a reception in the banquet room for family and friends from 3:30PM until 5:00PM.
