Born July 31, 1923 he was the third son born to William Cleary Earl Morrison and Ethel Mae (Reddick) Morrison. He was reborn through the waters of Holy Baptism August 22, 1926 at Norhill Methodist Church. Mr. Morrison was a Merchant Marine and fortunate enough to travel the seas and explore the world for 30+ years. While on one of his adventures he met and married the love of his life, Armandina Farina, in Italy. The Lord blessed them with 62 years of marriage and four sons; Johnny, William, Jimmy and George. Following his “retirement” he opened Morrison Natural Stone and operated that business until the progression of Alzheimer’s disease made it impossible to continue. The roots of the Morrison family grow deep in the Heights as William was a third generation resident! His grandfather's company laid many of the sidewalks that are still in use. The Morrison's home on East 11 1/2 Street was built by his father. William and his brothers grew up in the house, he and Armandina raised their boys there and continued to reside in the home. Two of their sons and spouses raised their families here in the Heights and are still living in the area, as well as one grandson and three great grandchildren! Six generations of Heights residents!!!!! William is preceded in death by his parents William and Ethel and siblings Clyde, Earl and John. He is survived by his wife, Armandina; sons Johnny and wife Kathy, Willie and wife Janis, Jimmy, George and wife Vickie; grandchildren Tracey Flores, Greg Morrison, Will Morrison, Amanda Morrison, George Morrison, Paula (Morrison) Garcia and husband Daniel, Joseph Morrison, Luke and wife Dalila Morrison, John Lee Morrison and James Roy Morrison, as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
The Morrison family extends their gratitude to Dr. Devender D. Reddy, MD and Select Specialty Hospital-Houston Heights for their patience, guidance, and the loving assistance they extended to our father and continue to give to our mother.
