
Born February 28, 1932 in Houston, Texas to W.M. Williamson Sr. & Lola Beatrice Williamson and entered into eternal rest on August 12, 2014. He atteneded MacGregor Elementary Schoool from 1939-1945 and then attended Johnson Jr High from 1945-1948. He joined the Boy Scouts & Later became a Lifescout. W.M started his own paper route with the Houston Chronicle & learned to play the trumpet at an early age. He then attended & graduated San Jacinto High School from 1948-1951, where he participated in band 1948 & 1951 & R.O.T.C & made Sargent & 1st & 2nd LT & also was chairman of the dance committee & joined the boys booster club.
After graduating High School, he joined the navy, earning the rank of petty officer 3rd class & served in the Korean Wwar from 1951-1955 as a avionics technician for M.A.T.S. Transport Aircraft in the Pacific division, stationed in Hawaii.
When he was later released from active duty in 1955, he returned home to the states to work in the field of TV in broadcasting for KPRC in Houston, TX. While he attending college, he had a recording studio that he built. He attended & graduated from the University og Houston from 1955-1959 & where he participated in the U of H Cougar Band, he also had his own dance band & arranged school dances, parties & teas off campus.
In 1961, he married his bride to be Ode A. Schumacher and had their son, W.M. Williamson III.
His career path changed dramatically to work for N.A.S.A and the development of the Space Program (1961-1969) through research & design to put man on the moon . He then worked for Garlock Valve Co. from 1970-1973. He then went to school of drafting for 2 years. Later he was employed at Houston Atlas Inc/Tractorr Atlas Inc. from 1973-1992, then retired as chief drafts man from the Company.
The family will receive friends at 10am followed by a graveside service on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home & Cemetery.
