Willie Mae Kubiak passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on November 25, 1933, in Bremond, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Josephine Skobluniak Marshall and John Marshall, and the cherished wife of the late Alfred A. Kubiak. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family, enjoying and making everlasting memories during their 57 years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, each of whom she held close in heart: Herman and Lillian Marshall; Leon and Christine (Marshall) Swiech; L.G. and Evelyn (Marshall) Cicherski; Marion and Frances Marshall; Julian and Pauline (Marshall) Kwasnica; Dorothy (Marshall) Sorsby; and Daniel and Beverly Marshall.
Willie Mae was a devoted mother and deeply loving grandmother who absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she poured her heart into every generation. She was a steady, remarkable presence — known for her strength, independence, and grace. Loving, kind, wise, and endlessly caring, she carried herself with quiet dignity.
She was deeply committed to her Catholic faith, which guided her life with purpose and compassion. Her devotion was evident in the way she treated others — with empathy, humility, and genuine love. She was strong without being harsh, generous without keeping score, and wise without seeking attention. She took great pride in supporting her son in football and her son-in-law in college baseball, celebrating their careers and accomplishments. A devoted fan of the sports herself, she enjoyed every game and cheered them on with joy.
Willie Mae was the proud mother of four children: Brenda Gorski and her husband, Mike; Gary Kubiak and his wife, Rhonda; Susan Pierce and her husband, David; and Kim Gum and her husband, Gary. Her children were her heart, and she nurtured each of them with steadfast love and care.
She cherished her eight grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy: Kevin Gorski and his wife, Kristen; Lyndsey Miller and her husband, Philip; Klint Kubiak and his wife, Tessa; Klay Kubiak and his wife, Marissa; Klein Kubiak and his wife, Lexi; Chelsea Caffey and her husband, Bryan; Shea Pierce and his wife, Madison; and Corbin Kullberg.
Her thirteen great-grandchildren were a joyful gift that lit up her world: Ellis and William Gorski; Meredith, Morgan, and Colt Miller; Sawyer, Lane, Case, William, Nora, and Cash Kubiak; Beckett and Lochlan Caffey.
Her love for her family was boundless, and her legacy lives on in each of them — a testament to a life filled with grace, devotion, and love. Willie Mae will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and sister.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Memorial Hermann for their compassionate care and support over the past few months. They would also like to thank Malynda with Visiting Angels for her kindness and friendship, and Annie with Circle of Friends, whose devoted care and gentle presence meant more than words can express.
