Today, we celebrate the life Mrs. Willie Ruth Rainey, born December 26, 1942 to the late William and Grace Hawkins in Marshall, Texas. She attended public schools here in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Kashmere High School in the class of 1961. She then attended Prairie View University. She worked for Brown & Root for 10 years, and then for the Federal Government for over 20 years. Mrs. Rainey was peacefully called home on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents; William and Grace Hawkins, her brother; Johnny Evans, and her husband Johnny L. Rainey Sr. Her memory will be forever cherished by: brother, Roosevelt Turner, of Houston, Texas, three sons, Charles J. Hawkins, Micheal F. Wingwood (Nikita), and Johnny L. Rainey Jr. of Houston, Texas, One Grandson; Charles J. Hawkins Jr. of Houston, Texas, Two granddaughters: Na'Stassia Thompson and Ashley Aiken both of Houston, Texas, along with a host of other relatives and friends
