A.M. Robertson, Jr. (87), passed away August 8, 2014. Affectionately known as “Smokey”, son of Oma and Alger, Sr., he leaves his wife of 64 years, Barbara (Batley) Robertson; two sons, Mike and wife Pricilla of Toney, AL, and Al and his wife Alina, of Woodstock, GA; three grandchildren, Abby of Greenville, SC, Miles of Toney, AL, and Megan of Smyrna, GA; one sister, Kathryn Driscoll-Waters of Springfield, MO; and preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Hollis-Smith of Birmingham, AL. Smokey was a proud veteran of the US Navy having served in WWII. He was a fireman prior to working as an installer, lineman, and engineer for South Central Bell before retiring in 1985. A Mason since 1952, Smokey was a Charter Member of the Cahaba Shrine Temple where he served as Emeritus Recorder and Treasurer. He was also involved with the Telco Credit Union Board of Directors for 42 years. Smokey relished his retirement days watching sunrises over Lake Guntersville. You may visit with the family at Valhalla Funeral Home on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A memorial service will be conducted by Rev.
