Carolyn June Medley

August 20, 1943 – June 28, 2025

Carolyn June Medley, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 20, 1943, Carolyn was a woman of warmth, kindness, and grace. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel loved and welcomed — whether you were family, a friend, or someone she had just met, you were always received with an open heart and a generous spirit. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Malcolm Medley, with whom she shared a life full of enduring love and cherished memories. Together they raised three wonderful children: Dayna James (Dwight), James Medley (Brenda), and Sandra Gaskin (Greg), all of whom carry forward her values of love, kindness, and strength.

She was a proud grandmother to Amanda McCoy (Matt), Morgan Forsman, Jarrod Medley (Jackay), Chelsea Conner (Josh), and Brandon James (Jessica); and a joyful great-grandmother to Jayden Medley, Isabella Forsman, Ava McCoy, Jacob Medley, Sutton McCoy, Jenna Medley, Grayson McCoy, William Conner, Brantley James, Shepard Conner, and Owen James. Nothing brought Carolyn more happiness than being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren — they were truly the light of her life.

As one of eight siblings, Carolyn’s extended family was large, close-knit, and full of love. She was a cherished sister and a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews who will deeply miss her kind heart, warm smile, and always-open arms.

Carolyn’s life was a beautiful testament to compassion and faith. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged. Her legacy is one of enduring love, heartfelt hospitality, and quiet strength.

A visitation for Carolyn will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home (Huntsville), 698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
