Charles Edward Cantrell

Charles Edward Cantrell, 73, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 in Huntsville, Alabama. Mr.Cantrell was a lifelong native of Huntsville, born on July 22, 1942 to the late Mike Edward Cantrell and Vernie Marie Lawson Cantrell. At the time of his passing, he resided in Toney, AL. In additions to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his son, Mickey Wayne Cantrell.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, with Evangelist Bobby Powell officiating. Interment,immediately following the chapel service at Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, May 5, 2016

from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Charles was a member of Spirit of Praise Church of God, Huntsville. His favorite pastime was hunting. He also enjoyed fishing and collecting any and all items of interest; coins, guns and knives, just to name a few.

Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Eva G. Cantrell of Toney, AL; two daughters, Darla Kirchoff (Stuart) of Toney, AL and Carla Ortiz (Tomas) of Hazel Green, AL; three grandchildren, Nikki Kirchoff of Florence, AL, Daniel Ortiz of Hazel Green, AL and Harley Kirchoff of Toney, AL; four sisters, Dorothy Lang of Huntsville, AL, Carolyn Wilson of Harvest, AL, Edna Mae Fletcher of Huntsville, AL and Sarah Davis of Woodstock, GA; and one brother, Bobby Cantrell of Huntsville, AL.
