Dorothy Gault Ivey

DOROTHY GAULT IVEY July 20, 1929 – February 5, 2016 Dorothy G. Ivey, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Ivey was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of over 45 years, Brooks Ivey; her granddaughter, Michelle Ivey; her brother, Edward Ivey; and her sister, Elaine Cobb. Left to cherish her precious memory are her two sons, Michael (Suzanne) Ivey of Fayetteville, TN, and Tony (Debbie) Ivey of Huntsville; two sisters, Imogene (Ernest) Hinkle of Huntsville and Eleanor (Ralph) Harris of Birmingham; two grandsons, Brian (Mindy) Ivey of Meridianville, and Russell Ivey of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Dorothy was a devout Christian woman and a long time member of East Huntsville Church of Christ. Later in her life she liked word search puzzles, gardening, sewing and was an avid reader. Dorothy Ivey was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her! You may visit with the family at Valhalla Funeral Home on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 2:00PM until 2:45PM.
