Eula B Price

Born November 16, 1929, in Lincoln County, Mississippi (near Brookhaven), to Dona DeLaughter Lambert and James Luther "Shug" Lambert, B was a beacon of love and a steadfast source of care for her family.

She graduated from Brookhaven High School. During a visit to Natchez, Mississippi, to watch her brother's ballgame, she met Harry E. Price, who was stationed at the U.S. Naval Reserve Armory. They fell in love and married on June 21, 1948 (though they playfully debated whether the anniversary was the 21st or 22nd throughout their 62-year marriage).

Eula was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother who dedicated her life to nurturing a warm, loving home. She found great joy in visits with friends and will be remembered for her playfulness, poignant colloquialisms, and humorous country sayings. B was a member of the Greenbrier Baptist Church in Madison, AL. Her greatest delight was her role as a grandmother—she loved watching her grandchildren play in the yard and treasured the day they affectionately renamed her "Ma Price" after watching the popular 1950s Ma and Pa Kettle movie series.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-laws, Harriet and Johnny Pritchard, Terry Price and Kenneth McDonald, five grandchildren; Christina Vereen Warren, Jason Pritchard, Amy McDougle, David Michael Vereen Jr. and Anthony Pritchard; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Edward Price (who passed in 2011 after serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean conflict), her parents, and her siblings (9 sisters and 5 brothers).

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on March 4, 2026, at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd., Huntsville, Alabama, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and a committal service.
