June 28, 1918 – February 28, 2015
Irene Hicks Maynard, lifelong resident of Madison County Alabama, passed away at
Millennium Nursing Home in Huntsville, Alabama Saturday morning, February 28, 2015, at age 96.
Mrs. Maynard was born June 28, 1918 in Hazel Green, Alabama. She was a homemaker, talented seamstress
and gifted in the craft of crochet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Emma Hicks;
her husband of 67 years, M.C. Maynard and her seven siblings. Mrs. Maynard is survived by
her sons and their wives, Dickey and Retha, Tony and Ginger, Mike and Linda;
four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter
as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 4th at Valhalla Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm
in the Valhalla Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Bert Breland and Rev. Mary Jo Gessner officiating.
Interment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
