

James (Jimmy) Manley Dunn, III unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 30. He was preceded in death by his father Jim Dunn Jr. He leaves behind his mother Rose Dunn, his wife of 50 years AnnaLee, his daughter Mindy and son James IV, his grandson Devan Kunter, sister Lisa Dunn and nieces and nephews. He loved his family very much.
Jimmy worked with Boeing for 26 years which included working with the Super Guppy transportation system which was instrumental in the construction, launch, and assembly phase of the International Space Station. He ended his time there running the operations desk on the manufacturing floor.
Jimmy was an active member of Whitesburg Baptist Church and drove a bus for the Inner City Ministries for many years and enjoyed going on mission trips. He also drove a bus for school field trips at Westminster Christian Academy and Whitesburg Christian Academy. Upon retirement, he volunteered with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief by serving on mass feeding teams, chainsaw teams, cleanup and recovery callouts and building handicap ramps. He has also served as a Gideon passing out Bibles at the Fair, college campuses and hotels. Best of all, Jimmy was known as a good friend to many. He is now with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Well done good and faithful servant.
A visitation for James will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 1:00pm at Whitesburg Baptist Church South Campus, 7300 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville, Alabama 35802.
