

RET SFC Kenneth George Grady, a retired Army Korean veteran, an avid player of the guitar and mandolin, a 50-year member of the Masonic lodge and member of the Cahaba Shine Temple, a loving father, a person of sincere generosity and jack-of-all-trades died on Monday, April 20, 2020.
Born in the foothills of Morganton, NC, son of Frank and Mattie Grady. He was one of seven children, predeceased by his older sister Cleo, and brothers Thomas, Charles and Claude. Kenneth worked in the textile factories of the North Carolina region until he enlisted in the Army where he fought in Korea and served abroad. Kenneth married Jean Rose Holpp after returning from his overseas tenure and then assigned to Redstone Arsenal, which became his home. After 20 years of military service, in 1969 Kenneth retired from active duty to pursue a career with the Department of Defense. Kenneth retired from the DOD with nearly 40 years of serving his country.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Jean Rose Grady; son, Kenny John Grady; daughter-in-law, Sheila Scott Grady; grandchildren, Erin Grady Bird and husband Doug, John Landon Grady; sisters, Ester Whisnant, Leona Poteat and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
