Susie was born and raised in Madison County, Alabama. She later moved to South Carolina and Chicago where she helped her sisters care for their children and worked various jobs. When she returned home, she worked at the Dwarf Restaurant in Huntsville, Alabama where she met her first husband, Haywood. Later she worked at their family-owned business, Jones Electric Co. Inc., as a secretary and bookkeeper. She was a member of West Huntsville Baptist Church. In her later years, she was a member of Lincoln Church of Christ. She enjoyed dancing and socializing with her family and friends at the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters: Hayle A. Swearingen and Susan E. Maynard (Jim). Step-son: Howard Sisco (Sherry); Grandchildren: Julia S. Maynard, Kayla K. Jonczyk (Alex) and James A. Maynard. Step-Grandchildren: David Sisco (Sarah), Staci Sisco, Kyle Driver (Shannon); Step-great grandchildren: Emily, Caroline, and Parker. Sister-in-law: Doris Whitworth Albright (Charles).
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Opal (Renfroe) Albright, and her ten siblings: John F. Albright (Angie), Elizabeth Archard (Bob), Virginia M. Sims (Bob), Roy F. Albright, Geneva Maiden (Bob) Charles L Albright, Phoebe K. White, Nellie F. McClure, James M. Albright, and Janie Albright. Son-in-law: D. Barry Swearingen. Husbands: Haywood Jones and Thomas L. Sisco.
A Chapel Service for Lela Sue (Susie) will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd N.E., Huntsville, Alabama 35811.
