Miriam Jones Thomas

Miriam was preceded in death by her parents William McKendrey Jones and Margaret Farmer Jones, her brother Dr. William M. Jones, Jr. and sister-in-law Dr. Ruth Ann Jones, and her husband of 47 years Leslie J. Thomas, Jr.

She was a graduate of Judson College and received a B.S. from Auburn University. She was a resident of Huntsville, AL for nearly 50 years before moving to Moody, AL. Miriam was a fulltime homemaker devoted to her husband, her children, her church and her neighbors.

She is survived by her children Laura Edge (Don) of Vincent, AL, Leslie J. Thomas III (Charlotte) of Brewton, AL, and Steven Mckendrey Thomas (Beth) of Norfolk, VA, three grandchildren Shelly Ann Edge McDonald (Rex), Jennifer Edge Manley (Todd), and Jessica Thomas. She was also proud of her five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by five nieces and three nephews

A visitation for Miriam will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to First Baptist Church Moody where Miriam was an active member for many years.
