Phyllis Marie Luce

Phyllis Marie Luce peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at ninety years of age. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lyle Barcus and Edith Marie Van Guysling; her husbands, Alan Robert Keene, William W. Luce; son, Robert Alan Keene; and granddaughter, Lori Marie Keene.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Gary Lyn Keene (Donna) of Spring Grove, IL, Randy Keene (Marcia) of Corinth, MS, Cindy West (Bill) of Huntsville, AL. and daughter-in-law, Marcia Jean Keene Endwell, N.Y.; 9 grandchildren, Chris Dickinson (Christy), Casey Alexander (Chantel), Michael Keene, Craig Keene, Rachel Keene, Josh Keene, Christy West, Gayle West, and Jason West ; five great grandchildren, Brentley Khammysing, Lane Alexander, Preston Alexander, Abby Alexander, Kaylee Alexander, and Zoe Dickinson; close friends, Lois and Gloria, her church friends and Choir family, and the loving staff and friends at Redstone Village.

She was born on January 27, 1949 in California to Lyle Barcus and Edith Marie Van Guysling.

Phyllis was a dedicated member and so enjoyed her church choir family at First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her love, quick wit, humor and wisdom endeared her to all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life Visitation for Phyllis will be held Friday, April 5, 2019 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at First United Methodist Church, 120 Greene St. SE, Huntsville, AL 35801. A Celebration of Life Service will occur Friday, April 5, 2019 at 6:30 PM, 120 Greene St. SE, Huntsville, AL 35801. An Inurnment will occur Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Chapel of Peace (Mausoleum), 698 Winchester Rd., Huntsville, AL 35811. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to First United Methodist, Kenneth Turvey Fund, 120 Greene St. SE, Huntsville, AL 35801.
