Ray Franklin Watkins August 21, 1941 – November 10, 2015 Ray Franklin Watkins, 74, of Toney, passed away at Huntsville Hospital on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hardin and Pearl Watkins. Left to cherish his precious memory is his loving wife, Janet Pearce Watkins and her daughter Ruth Ann Pearce; 3 daughters, Kani Watkins, Bonny O’Brien, Donnie Laney ( Zane) all of Huntsville; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; loving dog Ace and granddog, Wilson; and numerous other friends and relatives. Granddaddy Ray as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren, was a proud United States Army veteran of over 20 years. He was a member of Willowbrook Baptist Church for a number of years. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and fishing. Ray Watkins was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him! You may visit with the family on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Valhalla Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00pm. There will be a funeral service in Valhalla’s Chapel commencing at 2:00pm conducted by Bro.
