

Richard Lawrence Kibler, 72, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on March 3, 2026. Rick was born on October 5, 1953, in South Charleston, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents Henriellen Surgeon Kibler and David Arthur Kibler.
Left to cherish his memory are Tina Louise Kibler, his wife; Sarah Kibler and Holly Trantham his daughters; Stephen Trantham his son-in-law; Alexandra and Caleb Dyer his grandchildren; Christopher Kibler, Thomas Kibler, and Michael Kibler his brothers and their families. Rick is already deeply missed by his cats: Merlin, Quincy, Dante, Eros, Houdini and Mojo.
Rick was a member of Valley Hill Country Club, playing at the golf course since his teens. Rick was an avid reader and bibliophile, collecting mostly science fiction. He also loved collecting art. The Florida Gators were his favorite football team, although he also pulled for Auburn and Alabama. He enjoyed classic cars, especially trucks.
Rick was part of the first graduating class of Grissom High School in Huntsville, Alabama. In his youth, he was appointed a Midshipman in the Reserve of the United States Navy in 1971. Rick received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Auburn University in 1975.
Rick had been a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia, a Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Fraud Examiner. Rick spent his life working to improve the healthcare system for others. He retired from Florida Blue (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida), was the Vice President of Compliance and Internal Audit at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana and retired as the Vice President of Compliance and Internal Audit at Alameda Health Systems in Oakland, California.
Visitation will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home (Huntsville), 698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, AL 35811, on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 1:00 pm in Valhalla's Celebration Chapel. He will be laid to rest immediately following services at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
